Building your first Emberfall party

Emberfall Saga hands you a lot of party members early and doesn't do a great job explaining who's actually good. After a few restarts, here's what worked for me.

Keep your starting mage. The burn stack she builds is your main damage all through the early game, and pairing her with the frost archer to slow enemies means you get more turns to build it. That combo carried me for hours.

The tank looks boring but you need him. The second boss hits hard and fast, and without someone drawing aggro your squishier characters just melt. Give him the first defensive relic you find.

Don't over-invest in the healer early. Emberfall's fights are short enough that a couple of potions beat a dedicated healing turn most of the time. Save the healing slot for the longer dungeon runs later on.
